David Ospina, two weeks out with a broken nose

Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina suffered a fracture of the nasal septum on Tuesday collision with teammate Hugo Rodallega, during a combined training''face''coffee to prepare for the Copa America which begins Friday in Argentina.


The accident occurred when Ospina out of his goal to play ball with the striker, who inadvertently collided with the right elbow the face of the goalkeeper, who was taken to a hospital.

The injury will take about two weeks off, so would miss the start of the competition. "David (Ospina) will be out of play during the first phase until its recovery," said Carlos Ulloa, Colombian team doctor.

"We did an X-ray and has a small fracture and deviated septum. Tomography of the practice which also confirms that the fracture was displaced to the left side," he said.

The doctor, however, would not confirm if Ospina will continue to concentrate with the team, whether it will be replaced by a goalkeeper or return home.

Colombia is part of the group A of the competition, which also are Argentina, Bolivia and Costa Rica, against which debuts on Saturday in the northern province of Jujuy.
