Sprint Cup Good Sam Club 500 - Camping World Truck Coca Cola 250
Talladega Superspeedway
Talladega Superspeedway
Sixth round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. This week, the fight for the championship goes through the always dangerous Talladega track, where luck plays a role too important to the 12 drivers fighting for the cup. The Good Sam Club 500 presents more unpredictable than ever. Uncertainty over how the changes affect the NASCAR race is total, so nobody knows what will be found in the Alabama superspeedway.
Carl Edwards remains the leader a week, increasing his lead to 5 points over Kevin Harvick. In third place is situated Matt Kenseth, after winning two positions thanks to his victory at Charlotte. Kyle Busch is now fourth, and Tony Stewart completes the Top5. The defending champion, Jimmie Johnson, left 5 positions in the wall of the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and drops to eighth place.
In addition, the tragedy of Dan Wheldon last weekend in Las Vegas will feature prominently among the drivers, so prudence is expected to be the general tone of the first half of the practise.
The weekend was completed with the Coca Cola 250 in the Camping World Truck Series, also in Talladega. The Nationwide Series will return to racing on Saturday November 5.
